Job Details

  1. Strategically work with existing specifiers within the lighting industry and hunt for new outside sales representatives.
  2. Cultivate strong business relationships with designers and architect firms, identifying sales and product development opportunities.
  3. Lead meetings and sales presentations with the key decision-making executives and/or lighting reps. Close deals and manage contract negotiations.
  4. Provide tailored product knowledge of all lighting products in order to provide the best purchasing options for specifiers.
  5. Manage SLAs and customer service strategies.
  6. Create and execute plans to increase penetration within existing accounts using cross-selling opportunities.
  7. Prepare sales reports and forecasts for the leadership team.
  8. Stay current and research competitor products, the technology landscape, national trends, compliance laws, and other relevant market data.

Your Background, Skills, and Experience:

  1. 5+ years of sales experience within the lighting industry.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sales, or a related field.
  3. Background selling within the specification space, working with architects, showroom and designers, required.
  4. Existing relationships with architects, lighting designers, lighting showroom, and lighting rep agencies, are a plus.
  5. Superior professional presence and business acumen; excellent skills in communication, presentations, and negotiation.Be flexible with your views and positions to deal with different types of customers.
  6. Strong relationship-building skills at all levels, with outstanding professionalism and commitment to customer experience.
  7. Uses business understanding, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities.
  8. Self-motivation and drive to succeed. You volunteer for new challenges without waiting to be asked.
  9. Consolidates information from various sources including feedback from others to reach sound choices.
  10. Works smart by setting effective work goals, establishing priorities, and producing quality work.
  11. Computer literacy. As a sales specialist, we rely on a number of digital tools to help you execute your work and keep you accountable. Familiarity with MS Office, and common sales software such as XOL
  12. Ability to travel up to 30%.Sometimes can work from home depending on the situation.
